Important Update

Please Read - Effective Immediately

Dear Bhuman family and friends,

It is with heavy hearts that we write to announce the closure of the hot yoga studio location at 112th and Canyon. If you read our last email update, you might understand the circumstances surrounding our studio and its ability to continue functioning in the current environment with state-mandated restrictions on human interactions at ‘fitness’ facilities. We will attempt to recap some of the important items here so you can understand why we have made this difficult decision and how it impacts you.

Our studio has been closed to the public since March 16th, 2020, and as of today, we have closed the doors at this location. This means that we have no current plans to offer in-studio classes at this time.

When we received the Stay Home Stay Safe order in the spring of this year, like all ‘non-essential’ businesses, we closed our doors and waited. As the COVID updates rolled out, we struggled to understand the landscape, as did many of you, and worked to do what we could to offer online classes, and consider our options for the future, assuming that the shutdown would not last more than a few months. It became clear to us in June, when the Phase 2 guidance came out, that we were up against a very serious problem for our business viability. We continued to hold on to hope for a couple more months, but the situation has not improved.

We have come to the conclusion that we will not be able to continue our business within the current environment. Our business was not started with multiple investors or deep pockets, but only the two of us and our desire to create a space for our community to enjoy. We are certainly saddened and disappointed that circumstances are not different. At the heart of the mission to bhuman, we acknowledge that life will continue to send challenges our way, and we must do the best we can with what we’ve been given.

One thing that will continue is our online classes. You may have seen information on The Pocket, where you can sign up and take classes with you on the go. Through The Pocket we will be offering live classes weekly, and continue to add recorded, full-length classes as well as tips, tricks and topic-focused training.

Our weekly Zoom classes will be ending after the final zoom class, scheduled for Friday, 09/25/2020. In their place, you will be able to access online live classes easily on bhumanyoga.com. The classes will begin online the week of 10/05/20. Please make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates on the Live class schedule.

You may want to know about refunds. Those who made purchases after March 15th, 2020, and would like a refund, we will work with you individually to close out your account and make you whole. This will apply primarily to annual and semi-annual packages, and class cards. For those of you who opted to keep your monthly memberships active, we are assuming that you were trying to support us even though we were not offering our regular service in the studio. However, if this was a misunderstanding, please reach out and we will discuss your account with you.

If you have questions that we have not addressed here, please reach out to us at hello@bhumanyoga.com and we will do our best to answer them.

While we do not know what the future holds for bhuman, we do know that we will always cherish the relationships we have developed with many of you over the years! We intend to continue to provide value to you online with the Pocket offerings described above, and will walk forward through this transition with our eyes and ears open for what can come next. The times we have shared with you in the studio have been magical and memorable, and for those of you that we won’t see again, we will miss you! Thank you for what you have contributed to our lives – for supporting and believing in us and our mission. Stay present, keep breathing and we look forward to seeing you down the road.
